Ealing Nub News is delighted and proud to announce that we are now working in partnership with St Benedict's School.

St Benedict's is at the heart of the Ealing community and there is a huge amount to celebrate in this partnership, which will allow Ealing Nub News to continue to bring you all the latest news, features, information and pictures from our fabulous borough.

Karl Hancock, Nub News founder and Chief Executive Officer, said: "We feel very proud to be working with St Benedict's and consider it a great privilege.

"The school is clearly at the heart of the Ealing community and shares our values of putting that community at the centre of all that we do.

"Without such partnerships, we could not continue with the work that we do in providing a hyper-local online newspaper for our town."

Outstanding examination results year after year attest to the quality of academic education at St Benedict's, which also places huge emphasis on the importance of personal development, through its excellent co-curricular programme.

At fee-paying schools, such academic excellence is one way prospective parents can gauge a future return on their investment. There is no exam for pupils to demonstrate their education in, for want of a word, 'everything else'.

Who your child becomes, the values they embody and decisions they will make, rests in this 'everything else' education.

Underpinned by its century of schooling, a child at St Benedict's learns integrity, resilience and confidence of character – values it is hard to guarantee a school imparts at all, let alone weave into the fabric of how it educates children, as is the case at the school.

'A minimis incipe', is the school motto – 'from the smallest beginnings'. A belief in potential, perseverance and pursuit of personal goals is reflected in St Benedict's ethos. Founded in 1902, it has grown to become a school of over 1,000 boys and girls, aged between 3-18, all of whom are taught on the same site in Ealing.

Over the last 10 years of its 120-year history, St Benedict's has earned a reputation for combining excellent academic results with outstanding pastoral care.

Sporting, musical and drama pursuits abound, with more than 100 weekly clubs and societies for pupils to explore and excel in, outside their classrooms. Recent developments attest to how they value extra-curricular opportunities. New to the grounds is a state-of-the-art studio theatre, new floodlights and cricket nets in the sports grounds, while a total renovation of the Sports Pavilion and a new centre for Science and Digital Technology are in the pipeline.

Excellent careers guidance and a biennial Careers Fair support students at St Benedict's as they make decisions about which career pathways they should pursue and which universities they should apply to.

Beyond the school years, there is a very supportive, active Alumni community, the Old Priorians, which has played a key role in many of the school's 120th anniversary celebrations this year: a gala concert, lecture series, sports festival and the planting of 120 trees from the Woodland Trust are just some of the events which have brought pupils, past and present, together.

The Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, who joined the school in 2016, said: "St Benedict's is a school of the head and the heart, providing a truly holistic education to prepare girls and boys for the 21st century. It is a school of energy and compassion, helping young people to find and develop their unique talents while also encouraging them to think and act for others."
