Ealing Council officials and residents gathered to celebrate the official opening of Copley Community Centre at the end of September.  

The community centre is part of the council's regeneration plans for the estate, in partnership with Broadway Living.

The council says Copley Estate "has much-needed new and renovated housing alongside community facilities."

Copley Estate will have new homes for council rent, private sale, discounted market rent and shared ownership. 

Leader of the council, Councillor Peter Mason, the Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Hitesh Tailor, local councillors, and residents were involved in the ribbon cutting ceremony. 

Cllr Peter Mason said: "It's great that this community centre provides new space for the community to come together – to discuss, deliberate, exercise, play and celebrate.

"I am so proud that it has been designed with the Copley community, and I look forward to seeing the centre play a positive role in local life for many years to come." 

Maxine Smith, chair of the Copley Residents' Association and Resident Steering Group, said: "I have lived in Copley since 1982. So many things have changed since then, but I really do love it here, it's my home.

"I am Chair of the Residents' Association and Resident Steering Group, being a spokesperson for the Copley community from the start of the regeneration and creation of new facilities for residents has been an honour. This new centre represents so much for all of us." 

Ealing Council also celebrated with the community by hosting a Copley Fun Day earlier in September.

This event brought the community together for a day of festivities, with food and drink stalls, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a raffle.
