The Met has unveiled a new leadership team to deliver on its mission of more trust, less crime and high standards for London.

A Turnaround Plan launched by Met Comissioner Sir Mark Rowley has set out Scotland Yard's priorities for the next two years in what he said is "a pivotal new chapter for the Met".

Following the appointments of Assistant Commissioners Barbara Gray and Matt Twist in September, four new Deputy Assistant Commissioners have now been promoted to lead on operational policing.

Moving from Specialist Operations to oversee a team of Commanders with responsibility for specific geographic areas in addition to specialisms such as response policing, crime prevention, local investigations and violence is DAC Helen Millichap. A new role at Superintendent rank has been created in each of the 32 London boroughs to bolster neighbourhood policing.

Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has also set out how the Met continues to root out those who corrupt its integrity.

An 'Operations' portfolio including public order policing, uniformed operations and criminal justice will be overseen by DAC Ade Adelekan,

The Met's Specialist Crime Command will be led by DAC Matt Ward who joins the Met from West Midlands Police where as an Assistant Chief Constable he worked in counter terrorism and combatting organised crime.

A new performance role using "data, intelligence, learning and assurance from across the organisation" will be taken on by DAC Alexis Boon.

Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said: "We have appointed a senior leadership team that offers experience, diversity, energy and determination as we embark on what is a pivotal new chapter for the Met.

"I am excited to work with them, alongside Dame Lynne Owens as Deputy Commissioner, as we move forward, at pace, to deliver the police service that Londoners deserve."
