A MAN who was stabbed to death in West Ealing was 'defenceless' after having slipped and fallen in the road, a court has heard.

Mehran Heydari, 26, was killed on November 24, 2019, near his flat on The Avenue, close to West Ealing station.

Ismail Yusuf, 20, had chased Heydari, who slipped and fell in the road, before stabbing the victim at least three times.

According to MyLondon, the murder trial started yesterday (April 13) at Croydon Crown Court.

Yusuf has admitted manslaughter but denies murder on the defence of loss of control 'owing to Heydari's actions.'

The prosecutor argued that the motivation for the attack was jealousy over a woman the pair both had relations with.

The prosecutor told the court: "She and the defendant were in a relationship and living together in W5.

"It is not very far from where the deceased was living in West Ealing.

"They had a somewhat volatile relationship and she turned to Heydari for his friendship and support.

"The evidence shows his interest went beyond that.

"They may have had a more intimate relationship.

"He told a friend he was sleeping with her, but they were not going out."
