A MAN has been arrested after smashing several shop windows along Uxbridge Road in Hanwell.

At around 9:30am on Tuesday, May 25, a man was seen shouting and talking to himself walking along Uxbridge Road.

The culprit is believed to have been holding a brick, which he used to smash several shop windows as he walked along.

A number of shop keepers contacted the police and provided CCTV footage in order to help the officers arrest the man.

Amreen Malik is the owner of Amreen's gifts and balloons boutique, located at 123 Uxbridge Road.

She told Ealing Nub News that it was her window cleaner who found the perpetrator walking down the road after he had committed the vandalism and proceeded to tell Amreen.

The shopkeeper then proceeded to notify the police who arrested the man.

It is still unclear what his motives were behind his violent actions, which resulted in at least seven shops having their windows smashed.
