Among the many great events taking place around Ealing this weekend is the beloved local event Light Up The Lane.
This year marks the 20th year of the festive event which at its heart, and with the hard work of the Pitshanger Community Association (PCA), is a celebration of all that is Pitshanger that never fails to brings the local community together.
As in previous years, there will be several road closures in this part of Ealing to allow Pitshanger Lane to be pedestrianised during the event.
To help you plan your Sunday - whether you're attending or not - Ealing Nub News has put together a complete guide to Light Up The Lane and any traffic implications.
Light Up The Lane
When: Sunday, November 27
Time: 4pm to 7:30pm
What: Shops in Pitshanger Lane will stay open, selling mince pies, mulled wine, samosas, candy floss and anything else that will raise money for charitable causes.
The tree lights - many thousands of them in the trees along Pitshanger Lane - are lit every evening during the Christmas period, cheering up the local area right through to twelfth night.
Weather Forecast: According to The Met Office, windy weather and heavy rain through Saturday night will ease during the early hours of Sunday and change to cloudy by late morning. Sunset is at 15:59.
Light Up The Lane Road Closures
Road closures will be put in place at 10am on the morning of Light Up The Lane and removed no later than 11pm the same day.
Residents can only access roads north of the lane via Meadvale Road.
For roads south of the lane, access will be via Castlebar Park and Queens Walk.
On approaching the area vehicles will be told that there is no access to Pitshanger Lane.
There will also be parking restrictions along Pitshanger Lane throughout Sunday 28th and at the very top of Harrow View, Selby and Barnfield where they meet the lane.
The PCA said: "We appreciate that for some of you these road closures may be inconvenient, but I'm sure you will agree that pedestrian safety during the event is the number one priority."
It added: "One thing - please think about any deliveries you want during the event - we found last year that we had a few frustrated people on bikes and motorbikes."
