Ealing Lib Dem Councillor Gary Malcolm has written an open letter to Councillor Stafford, Leader of Ealing Conservative Party calling for his resignation unless he asks the PM to resign.

The letter expressed the 'anger and disappointment' felt by Ealing residents in response to the news that a party took place at Downing Street during May lockdown last year.

The Ealing Lib Dem leader has demanded the Ealing Tory leader resigns himself, or that he ask the PM to resign.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "Our borough has been hit hard by the pandemic. Whilst we were following the rules, the PM and others were breaking them.

"It is time for the Prime Minister to go and also the Tory Ealing Leader unless he contacts Boris Johnson to ask him to resign."

Labour MP for Ealing Central and Acton, Rupa Huq has also expressed her desire for the Prime Minister's resignation.

She stated on Twitter: "Even after PM's confession and patch-up job today MPs of every party including Keir Starmer, the SNP, and Lib Dems saying same thing #BorisResign".
