Labour win Ealing & Hillingdon GLA seat while Khan secures record third term as Mayor of London

The 2024 London Elections has come to an end with Sadiq Khan staying on as Mayor for a record third term and Ealing Councillor, Bassam Mahfouz, joins the London Assembly as Ealing & Hillingdon's representative.

Ealing & Hillingdon boroughs saw a total of 195,095 votes verified on polling day (2 May) with a turn out of just under 43%.

Overall, the capital saw 41% of Londoners vote in this year's elections, with 2,484,432 verified votes.

Results for Mayor of London across the capital:

  • Femy Amin (Animal Welfare Party - People, Animals, Environment): 29,280
  • Count Binface (Count Binface for Mayor of London): 24,260
  • Rob Blackie (Liberal Democrat): 145,184
  • Natalie Denise Campbell (Independent): 47,815
  • Howard Cox (ReformUK – London Deserves Better): 78,865
  • Amy Gallagher (Social Democratic Party): 34,449
  • Zoë Garbett (The Green Party): 145,114
  • Tarun Ghulati (Independent): 24,702
  • Susan Mary Hall (The Conservative Party Candidate): 812,397
  • Sadiq Khan (Labour Party): 1,088,225 Elected
  • Andreas Christoffi Michli (Independent): 26,121
  • Brian Benedict Rose (London Real Party – Transform London): 7,501
  • Nick Britain Scanlon (First - No To Immigration): 20,519

Ealing & Hillingdon's results for Mayor of London:

  • Amin Femy (Animal Welfare Party - People, Animals, Environment): 2,809
  • Count Binface for Mayor of London (Independent): 1,997
  • Rob Blackie (Liberal Democrats): 10,124
  • Natalie Campbell (Independent): 3,587
  • Howard Cox (ReformUK - London Deserves Better): 6,983
  • Amy Gallagher (Social Democratic Party): 2,643
  • Zoe Garbett (Green Party): 10,508
  • Turan Ghulati (Independent): 2,659
  • Susan Hall (Conservatives): 75,396
  • Sadiq Khan (Labour Party): 73,257

As for Ealing & Hillingdon's choice for Mayor of London, it was Conservative candidate Susan Hall who edged out Labour rival Sadiq Khan with the majority of votes.

Results for the Ealing and Hillingdon GLA constituency member:

  • Anthony Michael Goodwin (ReformUK - London Deserves Better): 15,247
  • Henry Higgins (Conservatives): 67,495
  • Jess Lee (The Green Party): 22,984
  • Bassam Mahfouz (Labour Party): 72,356
  • Kuldev Singh Sehra (Liberal Democrat): 15,293

For Ealing & Hillingdon's Greater London Assembly (GLA) member, residents from the two areas elected Labour Cllr Mahfouz to represent them.

After CEO of Ealing Council, Tony Clements, announced that Cllr Mafouz would represent Ealing & Hillingdon in the GLA, he told those at the Walpole Park count centre: "This is a victory for hope over hate.

"It is a victory for diversity over divisiveness. It is a victory for community fairness and faith in our future...

"But I promise to be my authentic, accessible and accountable self to everybody across our two boroughs.

"Whether you live in Northolt or Northwood, Hayes or Hanwell, Southall or Sipson, I will be your strong local voice in city hall."

Reacting to the results, Liberal Democrat Ealing & Hillingdon GLA Candidate, Kuldev Singh Sehra said: "I am proud to have had the opportunity to listen the residents of Ealing and Hillingdon during this campaign.

"Our two local Lib Dem teams worked tirelessly to help get our message out to our communities. The Liberal Democrat Official Opposition councillors in Ealing will continue to work hard for residents, listen to their concerns, and stand up for them."

The 11 London-wide seats on the London Assembly were allocated to parties based on their London-wide share of the vote.

Only parties securing more than 5% of the vote qualified for a seat.
