A historic music venue in Ealing is re-opening tonight for the first time in 18 months.
The Hanwell Cavern, a gig space in West Ealing, shut its doors during the first lockdown in March 2020.
It has stayed closed throughout the pandemic due to social distancing restrictions which effectively banned live music, especially any concerts indoors.
But the Ealing venue is making a triumphant return this evening (20 August) with a showcase of London musical talent.
The gig features Hanwell's own rock & blues band Silvermen, plus singer-songwriter Matt Wyatt and US-style rockers Steve Mahoney & The Milkshakes.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite but the show was almost sold-out at the time of writing.
You can find the Hanwell Cavern in the basement of the Hanwell Community Centre.
This space has a star-studded musical past as many of the UK's future rockstars including the Who, Led Zepplin and Deep Purple performed and rehearsed there.
Today the Cavern is a not-for-profit music venue run by the charity Hanwell Community Centre Consortium and other volunteers.
It aims to put on regular live music events featuring local bands and musicians, predominantly from Hanwell and the Borough of Ealing.
To never miss a gig, contact the Cavern on [email protected] or visit their Facebook page
