IVERSON Tyres is offering free MOT tests from tomorrow, April 30, until July 31.

Following the Government's COVID MOT extension scheme, around 1.86 million vehicles could be driving on the roads without having been subject to a yearly MOT test, according to a report issued by Kwik Fit.

The six-month extension scheme came into force originally last March and lasted until August, and theoretically all cars which benefited from the scheme should by now have had their test.

But as evident from the report, this isn't the case and that's why Iverson Tyres has taken matters into its own hands.

Ian Hutchinson, Manager at the Hanwell branch - located at 161 Boston Road - told Nub News: "Apart from the fact that lots of people are driving their cars without the proper MOT checks, we also want to get the trade back to some kind of normality.

"There are very few MOTs being carried out at present and there will be a massive influx towards the end of the year.

"Some people have an MOT and service together and it throws everything out of sync.

"There's almost certainly several vehicles on the road that will develop issues in a 12-month period, let alone 18 months."
