Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a terrace house in West Drayton, west London last night (5 June).

Four people had evacuated the building on Blunts Avenue before the Brigade arrived and were treated on-site.

One dog was rescued from a first-floor bedroom and has been reunited with its owners.

The fire, which was over by 11.48pm, damaged half of the ground floor.

An investigation into the cause of the fire revealed that it was believed to be accidental, stemming from an electrical fault in a fridge freezer.

In response to this incident, the London Fire Brigade issued a reminder regarding their white goods safety advice.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson says: "If your white goods start making a strange noise, don't ignore it. If you think there's a problem, always unplug it and contact the manufacturer or a qualified repair technician.

"Most fires where white goods are the source of ignition are not down to anything you have done – so always make sure you register your appliances as you'll be informed if any issues are identified with the product you've bought."
