EALING has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases, following a small decrease last week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 21% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of May 3 to 9, Ealing saw 141 new positive cases, compared to 116 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 21.6%, with 25 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 41.3, compared to 33.9 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 1,798 new cases during the week of May 3 to 9, which represents 20.1 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 13,123 new cases during the same week, correlating to 23.3 cases per 100,000 people.
