EALING has seen another decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases, with figures being lower than the nationwide average per 100,000 residents for the first time since November.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 22% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of March 22 to 28, Ealing saw 170 new positive cases, compared to 220 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 22.7%, with 50 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 49.7, compared to 64.4 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across London but are now lower than the average across England, for the first time in nearly five months.

London as a whole had 3,224 new cases during the week of March 22 to 28, which represents 36.0 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 30,080 new cases during the same week, correlating to 53.4 cases per 100,000 people.
