Ealing Project have teamed up with Age UK Ealing to launch Silver Screenings, a weekly film screening for older audiences.

Ealing Project cinemas, near Ealing Broadway Station, are offering a weekly film for an older audience, to give them a warm space to go to, so that they can enjoy a film, meet up with old friends and get to know new people.

The films are available for anyone over 60 and cost £5.50 including a free hot drink and biscuits.

The general manager from Ealing Project, Andrew Carruthers, said: "We are very excited to be launching the Silver Screening series at Ealing Project. We know older audiences have had a particularly hard time over recent years, unable to socialise with friends and family, and being impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.

"The Silver Screening series allows them to have a regular space to meet with friends, as well as experience everything our cinema has to offer.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Age UK Ealing on such an important initiative for the older generation in the borough.''

Age UK are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and will be supporting this initiative by inviting their 'Befriending' clients to the screenings.

Reginald Parkinson, CEO of Age UK Ealing, said: "As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to be partnering with Ealing Project on their Silver Screening Series.

"We are often looking for new and innovative ways for our clients to get together in a social environment, and this initiative provides a space for older people in the community to come together and enjoy a range of fantastic films on a weekly basis."
