EALING Central and Acton MP, Rupa Huq, has been told off for wearing a stop Heathrow expansion face mask in Parliament.

On Thursday, March 25, the procedural clerk on duty in the House of Commons advised the Deputy Speaker that Dr Huq was 'out of order'.

The Labour MP showed the Deputy Speaker what the offending item was and quickly turned the face mask inside out so that the message wasn't visible.

She told Nub News: "When the Deputy Speaker saw the mask, she shook her head, so I turned it inside out, quick as a flash."

A Conservative MP texted Dr Huq and suggested she should wear a Union Jack face mask instead and 'see how that goes.'

This isn't the first time a politician has been admonished for wearing political attire, with Green MP, Caroline Lucas, famously being told to cover up a t-shirt displaying the slogan 'No More Page Three' in 2013.

The issue of Heathrow's expansion is very important to the Ealing Central and Acton MP, who added: "The decision to allow Heathrow Airport a third runway will have a damaging impact on air quality, noise and London's ability to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030.

"Ministers should be focusing on delivering the comprehensive financial support package they promised the aviation sector and its supply chain, which supports more than a million jobs and protects the environment."
