IF you are thinking of popping into the McDonald's in Ealing Broadway (or any other branch in the borough) for a walk-in takeaway - don't.

The fast-food chain has announced that all its 1,300 restaurants across the country have been closed for walk-in takeaways.

The chain will remain open for delivery and drive-thru, but customers will no longer be allowed inside stores to place orders, even if they are taking them out, following the announcement of the new national lockdown.

You may now see queues of Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat riders who can no longer wait inside the store for their orders.

The company says it has taken this step while it reviews and reassesses safety procedures.
