EALING Council's library service has created three video experiments for families to follow and enjoy as part of British Science Week.

The first experiment is available to view on Ealing Libraries YouTube channel from today and is showing how water travels through celery.

The following two experiments will be available online on Wednesday (March 10) and Friday (March 12), teaching how water can travel upwards and how to turn water into all the colours of the rainbow respectively.

Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, the council's cabinet member for business and community services, said: "These fun experiments are a great way to get young people interested in science and to remind them of the services that Ealing Libraries offers.

"There is a choice of great events to take part in this month, including author chats and even a performance by the library choir.

"It's important for people to know the resources are still there, even though the current government restrictions mean residents are unable to attend the libraries in person.

"We are looking forward to welcoming visitors back through our doors again but in the meantime, I'd encourage them to enjoy the online activities."
