A massive, colourful artwork created in celebration of Southall is looking for a home after its commission was cancelled.

Artists Raph Thomas and Kate Winskill are seeking a home for their new piece of art entitled "Celebrate Southall".

The pair, who both show their work at the Pop Up Gallery, Ealing Broadway, started working on the piece back in June as part of a commission, which was unfortunately cancelled.

Winskill said: "We have a wonderful, large painting which would create a fantastic focal point in a local leisure or entertainment venue, or a bold statement in an eclectic home.

"It took several weeks to complete, so it would be a shame for the work to stay under wraps."

The result of the cancelled commission, is a work which measures an impressive 2.35m x1.5m, so would require a large wall, perhaps in a local business or as a centre piece in a home.

With Asian elements combined with local references, the work features digital collage and original painting in acrylic and oils on backed reinforced canvas.

Winskill created the overall composition, designed to recreate a buzz of an urban environment, brimming with different cultural influences.

Thomas, recognised for his colourful rainbow animal collections of works, contributed the elephants.

Anyone interested in seeing the work with a view to purchasing is asked to contact Kate on [email protected] or call 07968159138.
