Our top pick for this week is The Sir John Soane's Birthday Festival at the Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery in central Ealing.

The free community event, taking place this weekend, is in celebration of Pitzhanger's beautiful building and grounds.

Activities include drop-in craft making throughout the day, inspired by the stained glass at the Manor.

There will be a demonstration of the historic paint recreation techniques used for our Chinese wallpaper.

You can also enjoy dressing up in historic costume, painting demonstrations, manor tours and art and nature trails of Walpole Park.

Entry is free on a first-come, first serve basis and visitors are advised to book in advance to ensure your place on the day.

Saturday and Sunday September 11 - 12, 10-5pm.
