Ealing drug dealer sentenced to 68 months in prison
AN Ealing man has been sentenced to 68 months in prison for dealing drugs.
On October 29 last year, officers from the West Area Violence Suppression Unit were on patrol around St Paul's Close in Ealing Common and witnessed what they believed to be a drug deal taking place in an alleyway.
Officers entered the alleyway and saw one of the suspects, Nathaniel McCalmon, 22, discard a jacket and motorcycle helmet before scaling a fence into a back garden and running away.
Using their knowledge of previous interactions with McCalmon, the officers went straight to his home address, where he appeared shortly after.
Following a brief struggle, the team managed to detain him on his doorstep.
From the discarded jacket a phone with multiple drug dealing texts was found, along with 15 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.
He was arrested and charged the same day with possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.
He was remanded by Uxbridge Magistrates' Court into prison awaiting trial.
While this was ongoing, it became apparent that another case was also waiting to be heard at court.
On March 19 last year, officers had seen McCalmon on Eaton Rise in Ealing Broadway, riding a moped.
He was seen entering and leaving an address and upon seeing officers he ran away.
The dog units searched the immediate vicinity and found a discarded bag containing crack cocaine and cannabis, before finding McCalmon hiding in a garden.
He was later charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession of cannabis.
These cases were combined and McCalmon pled guilty to all charges at Isleworth Crown Court last Wednesday, March 17, and was sentenced to 68 months' imprisonment.
