A DRUG dealer from Ealing has been sentenced to three years in prison after getting caught with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine.

According to Bucks Free Press, Kayne Joseph, 19, of Greenford Road was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, July 9, after he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

The court heard how on December 4 2020, plain clothed officers noticed three men they suspected were drug users walking around Aylesbury.

The suspects tried to run away when they noticed they were being followed, but officers managed to detain and then arrest them.

Joseph was one of the men arrested and the following day, the Metropolitan Police searched his flat, where they found 60 grams of cocaine hidden behind the grate of his kitchen extractor fan, with an estimated street value of £2,400.

When interviewed by police, Joseph said he was visiting Aylesbury to go to a party, but he later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Joseph had a previous conviction for assaulting an emergency worker in September 2020.

He was involved in an altercation at a bar in Chelsea and twice attempted to headbutt a police officer, only missing by 'centimetres'.

The court heard how he was on conditional discharge for this offence when he was caught with the drugs in December.

Although the judge agreed that Joseph was not the 'mastermind' behind the drugs operation, he was unmoved by the defence barrister who asked for a suspended sentence and instead sentenced Joseph to three years' imprisonment.
