A POPULAR Ealing curry house has been awarded the South East England Gastronomic Excellence Award.

Haweli has been chosen by the London & South East Prestige Awards 2020/21 and will receive the award at a ceremony at the Barnett Hill Hotel in Guilford in July.

For the last 16 years, Prestige have been running national and international awards.

In 2018 however, they introduced regional awards too, in order to recognise smaller, independent businesses that are extremely successful and hard working on a local level, such as Haweli.

Haweli owner, Manik Miah, told Ealing Nub News: "We're very happy to receive this award, it's a great honour.

"It's so satisfying to see that all our hard work is being recognised.

"We're looking forward to even more awards in the future."

This comes as earlier this year Haweli was named as one of the three top Indian restaurants in Ealing.
