AN Ealing couple have set up a homemade pasta business, where customers can purchase freshly made 'truly authentic' Italian pasta.

Fabio Mordini and Ilaria Fantin are originally from Italy but have lived in Ealing for three years.

Last month they launched their new business, called Pretty Little Pasta, from their flat in Northfields.

Mordini told Nub News: "I've been around food for a very long time, both in Italy and in London.

"I love food and learning everything about food.

"I was influenced by my grandmother, I used to spend a lot of time with her and she would always make fresh pasta."

Mordini, who worked as the General Manager at Franco Manca pizzeria in Ealing Broadway for three years, makes all the pasta from scratch, using ingredients he buys locally and actually describes the process as 'easy'.

He said: "Making pasta is simple and easy.

"The sauce and the fillings we plan on selling in the near future are also going to be quite simple to make too.

"That's how traditional Italian pasta is made though, everything is made from low-cost ingredients, but that doesn't mean it can't taste amazing."

Fantin's background was also in hospitality when she was in Italy, similarly to her husband, but her main interest is in photography and she's the one behind the couple's artistic Instagram pictures.

She told Nub News: "I've always been interested in photography and as a hobby I would take pictures of pretty landscapes around London.

"But when we came up with the idea for Pretty Little Pasta, I thought it was a great opportunity for me to put my eye for detail to good use and take artistic pictures of our culinary creations.

"It's very important that food looks good, it's not just about the taste, it can make a big difference sometimes."

In the near future the couple plan to sell home cooked pasta dishes as well, but at the moment they are offering different types of homemade raw pasta that customers can pre-order 48 hours in advance and have it delivered to their homes.
