Ealing Council launch consultation on how to reduce traffic in Southall
Ealing Council and Let's Go Southall are holding a consultation to get people's ideas on how to reduce traffic in Southall.
The council have opened a survey to get the public's feedback about how they can reduce traffic and improve the air quality in the area and also what measures can be taken to make it easier for people to cycle, walk, etc.
Many of these ideas are about trying to reduce traffic congestion in Southall by helping residents feel able to swap short car journeys for walking or cycling.
Councillor Deirdre Costigan, the council's deputy leader and cabinet member for climate change, said: "We know that traffic congestion, air pollution and road safety are major concerns for Southall residents.
"That's why we are doing this consultation, to find out what local people think about how we can make our streets safer, cleaner and more pleasant for everyone.
"As an open, transparent and inclusive council, we want to hear from residents about what they think will work best."
You can get involved with this consultation online and it will be available until 25th June 2023.
You can also participate in this in person at various drop-in sessions at The Dominion Centre on 27th May and 8th June, and a workshop at Southall Manor House on 24th June.
