Residents are being invited to share their thoughts on proposed improvements at Belvue Park in Northolt.

Join Ealing Council and Trees for Cities representatives at an in-person consultation session on Tuesday, 7 November 2023 from 5.30pm to 7pm at Northolt Village Community Centre.

This is an opportunity for residents to have a say on what they want to see in the park, including new trees, seating and natural play areas.

The plans are part of Visions for Northolt's Green Ring, a new 6.3km walking and cycling route coming in 2025 that will connect 6 parks in the area, including Northala, Lime Tree and Islip Manor Parks.

It will help residents to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, whether by walking, scooting or cycling says the council.

The improvements have been supported by a grant from the Mayor of London's Green and Resilient Spaces fund which will help to create the new walking and cycling route and the environment around it.

The council is also proposing park improvements and a seasonal pond with sustainable drainage system (SuDS) in Belvue Park to reduce the risk of flooding and increase wildlife habitats.

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, Ealing Council's deputy leader and cabinet member for climate action, said: "We want to encourage our residents to take up active travel – walking, cycling and scooting, by creating more spaces for active travel.

"And the Green Ring will do just that – bringing improved connections between our 6 parks in Northolt while encouraging more active and healthy travel for our residents.

"It will also allow us to make environmental improvements to the area, contributing to much cleaner air, and add sustainable drainage to prevent flooding that often hits Rowdell Road and Belvue School, supporting our climate emergency actions.

"We hope residents will help us create a more beautiful Northolt on 7 November at Northolt Village Community Centre."
