Ealing Cabinet will be discussing a new strategy to tackle male violence against women and girls at their next meeting on 22nd February.

This proposed new strategy is based upon discussions had by Ealing Council and the Safer Ealing Partnership last year with more than 3,000 women and girls giving their ideas as to how to improve the safety for women and girls in the borough.

This new plan would be implemented in addition to the Safer Ealing for Women action plan, which has looked to improve street lighting, increase CCTV, and awareness of reporting harassment.

The new plan has four main priorities, which are: prevention through education, high quality services providing support, holding perpetrators to account, and creating a culture in which it is everyone's responsibility to recognize and respond to incidents.

This would see a borough-wide education programme brought in to teach people about health relationships and a positive culture towards women and girls.

Workshops have already begun in schools to get pupils to talk through different scenarios and understand things from the perspective of women and girls.
