EALING has seen a decrease in new coronavirus cases for the second consecutive week.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 26% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of January 18 to 24, Ealing saw 2,165 new positive cases, compared to 2,937 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 26.3%, with 772 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 633.4, compared to 859.3 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 40,086 new cases during the week of January 18 to 24, which represents 447.3 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 199,093 new cases during the same week, correlating to 353.7 cases per 100,000 people.
