Ealing Conservatives are encouraging residents to sign a petition to block the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone.

The petition was begun by London Conservatives hoping to block the expansion of ULEZ by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan which is set to take place on 29th August 2023, describing it as a "tax on drivers".

Ealing Conservatives are spreading this petition to residents of the borough, the petition will end on 31st July before being presented to the Mayor of London at City Hall.

The justification for the petition said: "Can you afford £12.50 a day just to drive your car? The Mayor of London has announced his plans to expand ULEZ to the whole of London.

"ULEZ is a £12.50 tax on drivers – and YOU may have to pay every time you drive your car.

"In fact, the only time you're not charged is Christmas Day – when most people don't dive.

"Can you afford £12.50 just to go to the supermarket? Every time you drive to work?

"The Mayor's new tax will be introduced in the summer of 2023. So, we've got just a few months to stop it.

"Stop the Mayor raising you cost of living. Sign the petition today. The more Londoners sign our petition, the more likely the Mayor is to listen.

"So, sign this petition, share it with a friend – and together let's tell the Mayor to reverse his plans."
