Dame Judi Dench has rallied the local community together in support of a crowdfunding campaign to replace the roof of an Ealing theatre.

The Academy Award winning actor is backing a Crowdfunder launched yesterday (Thursday, July 7) to help The Questors Theatre remove the leaking and increasingly unsafe roof of its Playhouse.

Built in 1964 and renamed after Judi Dench fifty years after construction, damage from rainfall through the once state-of-the-art flat roof now threatens to make the Playhouse unusable.

Almost £5,000 has already been donated to upgrade it with a water-tight alternative this summer that The Questors Chair, Doug King, says is "essential for the future of the Playhouse".

As President of The Questors, Dame Judi has asked the many people entertained, moved, enlightened and amused by one of the countless productions staged to contribute what they can to the project and ensure The Questors "continues to develop creative artists and provide theatre of an excellent standard to the community".
