Queen Elizabeth II will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years on the throne this week.

There will be more than 150 street parties in Ealing over the four-day bank holiday weekend celebration for the Queen. 

The Platinum Jubilee weekend runs from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5 and a number of events are scheduled across Ealing.

Here's our rundown of events planned in Ealing to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.

Platinum Jubilee Weekend in Ealing

Wednesday: Queen's Jubilee Bunting Showcase

A display of designs created by children from Christ the Saviour Primary School have been converted into bunting for Ealing businesses to decorate their shops and windows for the Jubilee.

Thursday: Platinum Jubilee Beacons

Ealing Council will be lighting two beacons on the evening of 2 June to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in Walpole Park, Ealing and Northala Fields, Northolt. 

Beacons will be lit at 9.45pm at both locations. If you plan to attend, arrive by 9pm.

Sunday: Big Jubilee Lunch

Residents are invited to bring a picnic to Walpole Park on Sunday, June 5.

The Big Jubilee Lunch will have a funfair, bouncy castle, and other fun activities, and the park will be decked with bunting.

There will be entertainment throughout the afternoon that showcases local talent and the diversity of Ealing. 

Tickets are not required for the Big Jubilee Lunch – simply turn up and find a spot to join in the activities. 

Sunday: Proms in Walpole Park

On the evening of Sunday, 5 June, Ealing Symphony Orchestra will be performing live in Walpole Park in a free ticketed event celebrating Her Majesty's historic reign. 

Ealing Symphony Orchestra, joined by a guest singer, will be performing a unique programme, combining Last Night of the Proms favourites alongside allusions to Ealing's history and culture, with an opportunity for everyone to join in as the Jubilee weekend is taken to a grand finale.
