WHERE does Ealing rank in the UK's nicest places to live?

Property consultant Garrington has produced a list ranking 1,372 cities, towns and villages in the country based on how nice they could be to live in following the coronavirus pandemic.

Each area has been judged based on factors including their natural beauty, quality of life and architectural beauty.

Natural beauty: Each location was scored for its proximity to open water, National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Architectural beauty: Marks were awarded for the number of listed and period homes, as well as modern ultra-energy-efficient homes.

Quality of life: Each area was ranked for its air quality, crime figures and how many farm shops there are within a three-mile radius.

Ealing was placed in the top half of the league table, at 614th place out of 1,372.

It was the quality of life metric which harmed our ranking the most – we came 1,273rd out of 1,372!

Ealing scored highly for its architectural beauty, coming in at 323rd and above average for our natural beauty at 618th.

The report said the nicest place to live in the whole of the UK was Bath, with the rest of the top five being made up by Tenby, Bradford on Avon, Ilfracombe and Canterbury.
