Ealing Central Library remains closed since Monday (30 October) because of a bed bug infestation.

In an update today via X, (2 November) the library said: "Unfortunately, we aren't ready to reopen Ealing Central Library today as planned.

"We are keeping the library closed on the advice of professional pest controllers who are still working hard with us to treat the bugs and give the library a top to bottom deep clean.

"We will reopen the library when we are happy that the bugs have been treated.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may cause and thank residents and library staff for their understanding.

Their bites can be itchy, but do not usually cause other health problems says the NHS.
