Welcome to our feature What's on at Watermans this week? rounding up the current cinema, theatre and gallery listings on at Brentford's riverside arts centre.

My Policeman

Based on the book by Bethan Roberts, director Michael Grandage carves a visually transporting, heart-stopping portrait of three people caught up in the shifting tides of history, liberty, and forgiveness.

A beautifully crafted story of forbidden love and changing social conventions, My Policeman follows three young people – policeman Tom (Harry Styles), teacher Marion (Emma Corrin), and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson)– as they embark on an emotional journey in 1950s Britain. Flashing forward to the 1990s, Tom (Linus Roache), Marion (Gina McKee), and Patrick (Rupert Everett) are still reeling with longing and regret, but now they have one last chance to repair the damage of the past.

Emily

Actress Frances O'Connor makes her directorial debut with Emily to tell the imagined life of one of the world's most famous authors, Emily Brontë.

Starring Emma Mackey as Emily, a rebel and misfit, as she finds her voice and writes the literary classic Wuthering Heights. Emily explores the relationships that inspired her – her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte and Anne; her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman and her care for her maverick brother whom she idolises.

Tad the Lost Explorer and the Curse of the Mummy

Tad's biggest dream is to be accepted by his archaeology colleagues, but his accident-prone nature gets in his way. When he inadvertently destroys a rare sarcophagus, a spell is cast, putting his friends' lives in danger. Saving Mummy, Jeff and Belzoni will trigger an action-packed adventure that will lead Tad and Sara to travel to the far corners of the world to find a way to stop the curse of the Emerald Tablet.

An Indiana Jones inspired animated action film for children and their families.

The Resistance Fighter

Based on a true story, Philippe Tokiski (Adventures of a Mathematician, Quartier des Banques) stars as real-life Polish war hero Jan Nowak-Jezioraski in the latest blockbuster from cult director Wadysaw Pasikowski (Pitbull: Last Dog, Jack Strong, Pigs). A man of extraordinary courage who served as an emissary between the commanders of Poland's Home Army resistance movement and the Polish Government in Exile in London at the height of the Second World War, Jan came to be known as "The Messenger from Warsaw." Hunted by all the Axis Powers' secret services, he is smuggled out of Poland with a mission to make his way to London with information which would decide the fate of Poland and the war, meeting along the way people who will change his life forever.

The Seagull

Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) makes her West End debut in this 21st century retelling of Anton Chekhov's tale of love and loneliness.

A young woman is desperate for fame and a way out. A young man is pining after the woman of his dreams. A successful writer longs for a sense of achievement. An actress wants to fight the changing of the times. In an isolated home in the countryside, dreams lie in tatters, hopes are dashed, and hearts broken. With nowhere left to turn, the only option is to turn on each other.

Following his critically acclaimed five-star production of Cyrano de Bergerac, Jamie Lloyd brings Anya Reiss' adaptation of Anton Chekhov's classic play to stage. Filmed live in London's West End with a cast including Tom Rhys Harries (White Lines), Daniel Monks (The Normal Heart), Sophie Wu (Fresh Meat) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones).

Cabaret Fantastique

France's finest flâneur returns to Watermans with his international hit show for one night only.

Cabaret Fantastique is Marcel Lucont's feast of international cabaret, with no fixed abode. A cult hit at festivals worldwide, Marcel will be joined by 3 incredible guests from the world of cabaret, comedy and circus to serve up a feast of Friday night entertainment, all held together with dry wit and a dry white.

Marcel Lucont is the star of Comedy Central At The Comedy Store, Sky Atlantic's Set List and BBC1's The John Bishop Show and will be regaling Brentford with new bawdy poems and soaring miserablist chansons, with live accompaniment.
