Ealing Choral Society and English Chamber Orchestra sing Mozart's Mass in C Minor, Cadogan Hall
Join Ealing Choral Society and the English Chamber Orchestra for a thrilling evening of choral splendour featuring Mozart's Baroque masterpiece, the 'Great' Mass in C Minor.
Composed as a showcase for his wife Constanze, a talented soprano, the dazzling Mass setting is an undisputed masterpiece of church music, a remarkable union of musical vision and religious text drawing on Mozart's skill for drama that made his operatic works such a phenomenal success.
The programme includes Mozart's exhilarating motet Exsultate, Jubilate, and more contemplative works by Haydn and Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. A highlight of the evening is one of William Byrd's most moving compositions, marking the 400th anniversary of the composer's death.
Ealing Choral Society and the English Chamber Orchestra are delighted to partner again under the direction of conductor Peter Asprey, for this stunning spring concert.
