THE UK's first Amazon GO store is set to open in Ealing this week, the Mail on Sunday has revealed.

Plans for the opening of the first UK store have been shrouded in secrecy, but the Mail on Sunday discovered that the chosen location is the old Accessorize store next to Holland & Barrett on The Broadway.

Industry sources said they believe supermarket chain, Morrisons (which also has a store across the street on The Broadway), has teamed up with Amazon and is preparing to dispatch products ready for the launch.

This will be the first Amazon GO outside the US, where it already operates 25 stores.

Customers will not need any cash or card in order to pay, all they'll need is the Amazon GO app on their mobile phones.

Shoppers will be able to pick up food and walk out without having to pay at a till.

The automated shop will use hidden sensors and cameras to track what customers are loading into their shopping bags.

They will then be charged via the app on their phone.

Plans for at least another 30 stores nationwide have been reportedly drawn up.
