THE PTA at Grange Primary School in South Ealing has organised a post-lockdown clear out in order to raise funds while also help reduce waste.
This is one of the many fundraisers the PTA is hosting in order to raise money and make up the £10,000 it usually raises during its Christmas fair, which this year won't be going ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Vice-Chair of Grange PTA, Jo Wiltshire, told Nub News: "Schools have had to re-think their learning strategies due to COVID and we've had to invest more in online learning and we need funds for that."
That's why on December 6, the PTA is hosting a clear out and is inviting everyone to go and donate whatever clothes, soft toys, shoes, towels, bed sheets, hat, coats and whatever else they can.
"We've all gone through lockdown clear outs," said Wiltshire.
"Let us help you by taking your clear outs and in the process we help ourselves by raising money for our school."
The PTA puts all the donations in bags and then takes them to Bag2School, who weigh the bags and pay the PTA based on the weight they bring.
A piece of designer clothing and an unmarked brand could raise the same amount of money, as it's all based on weight.
The mum-of-two said: "We won't just raise money for our school by doing this, we will also help recycle and re-use and at the same time save from adding more landfill to our planet, values that we support."
Donations will be collected on Sunday between 10-11:30am at Grange Primary School car park.
