GALLERY: First day back at Ealing Broadway shopping centre following easing of restrictions
FROM today (April 12), non-essential shops, hospitality venues and hairdressers, have all reopened their doors to the public for the first time in nearly four months.
Local residents took the chance to head down to Ealing Broadway shopping centre and shop, have a pint and get a haircut – not necessarily in that order.
There were long queues outside many shops, such as Primark, H&M and River Island, along with hairdressers.
Ahead of today's reopening, Andrew Rollings, Centre Director at Ealing Broadway, said: "We know many of our customers are very excited about the reopening, and we are equally as excited to welcome them back.
"It's also a massive milestone for our retailers and we're looking forward to them opening their doors once again.
"Everyone visiting us in the coming weeks can expect to see all of our extra safety measures still in place and our team will be on the ground helping to remind customers of the Government guidance."
There were stewards dispersed throughout the mall to make sure people were keeping to COVID guidelines and Primark even had workers assisting shoppers who were queueing up outside, due to the sheer number of people trying to get into the store.
Ealing Broadway shopping centre is open 9am-7pm Monday to Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
