EALING has seen a decrease in new coronavirus cases for the fifth consecutive week but continues to have the highest number of cases among London boroughs.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 38% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of February 8 to 14, Ealing saw 616 new positive cases, compared to 1,005 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 38.7%, with 389 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 180.2, compared to 294.0 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 9,413 new cases during the week of February 8 to 14, which represents 105.0 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 74,961 new cases during the same week, correlating to 133.2 cases per 100,000 people.
