EALING has seen a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases, following a slight increase last week.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 7% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of April 12 to 18, Ealing saw 106 new positive cases, compared to 114 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 7.01%, with eight fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 31.0, compared to 33.4 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 2,047 new cases during the week of April 12 to 18, which represents 22.8 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 13,638 new cases during the same week, correlating to 24.2 cases per 100,000 people.
