EALING has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the first time since January.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 9% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of April 5 to 11, Ealing saw 114 new positive cases, compared to 104 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 9.6%, with 10 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 33.4, compared to 30.4 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across London and are now also higher than the average across England as well.

London as a whole had 2,020 new cases during the week of April 4 to 11, which represents 22.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 15,771 new cases during the same week, correlating to 28.0 cases per 100,000 people.
