EALING has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the seventh consecutive week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 42% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of June 28 to July 4, Ealing saw 734 new positive cases, compared to 514 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 42.8%, with 220 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 214.7, compared to 150.4 the week before.

Those figures are now lower than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 19,437 new cases during the week of June 28 to July 4, which represents 216.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 154,262 new cases during the same week, correlating to 274.1 cases per 100,000 people.
