A crowd funder to install a drinking water fountain in Southall Park has been launched by the Ealing Parks Foundation (EPF).

The charitable foundation hopes to raise money to purchase and install a drinking fountain, of which there are currently none in Southall Park.

The fountain itself will be designed to be durable and feature a drinking tap, a bottle-filling tap and also a ground-level tap/bowl for dogs.

They hope to install the fountain near the outdoor gym equipment and playground to help reduce the use of single bottle plastic and litter in the area.

Ealing Parks Foundation is a relatively new charity, operating since January 2020, formed in response to the diminishing amount of public funding available to improve parks.

The foundation works with local communities to enhance Ealing's 140+ parks and green spaces.

Southall Park is a short walk from Southall Broadway and includes a playground, play centre, bowling green, pavilion and tennis courts.

It is home to several tree species including, English Oak, London Plane, Dawn Redwood and Eucalyptus.

It can be accessed from the Uxbridge Road, Green Drive and Boyd Avenue.

The crowd funder needs to reach 20 pledges by tomorrow, 8 December to go ahead.
