Today's weather: Highs of 8 degrees and lows of 5 degrees, rain in the afternoon and a yellow wind warning has been put in place today, according to the Met Office, with wind gusts between 17 – 42 mph.

Met Office news: A deep area of low-pressure moving in from the Atlantic today, 7 December, has been named as Storm Barra by Met Éireann for the level of impacts expected for the Republic of Ireland.

Traffic: As of 7:50am, according to AA Traffic, slow traffic on A40 into town between A4127 (Greenford Flyover) and A406 (Hanger Lane Gyratory System).

Delays of six minutes and delays increasing on A406 North Circular Westbound between A404 Brentfield (Harrow Road Underpass) and Hanger Lane (Hanger Lane Gyratory System). Average speed ten mph.

Delays of four minutes on A40 Western Avenue Eastbound between A40 and A4000 Wales Farm Road (Gypsy Corner). Average speed ten mph.

Delays of eight minutes on A406 North Circular Westbound in London. Tfl update: London Overground: No service between Gunnersbury and Richmond while they fix a faulty train at Richmond. Minor delays between Stratford and Gunnersbury / Clapham Junction. Today's Sunrise: 7:42 am
