Brentford FC Community Sports Trust's Young Carers Project has been selected for support from the Co-op's Local Community Fund.

Every time Co-op members buy selected products, 2p for every pound spent goes to the shopper and Co-op will match to give the same to local causes.

Ealing and Hounslow Young Carers Projects are managed by the Trust and assist young carers aged eight to 18 living in the London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow.

The project offers information and guidance, enjoyable activities during school holidays, weekly youth clubs, specialised workshops and individualised support.

It provides young carers with an opportunity to take a respite from their caregiving responsibilities and connect with peers facing similar challenges.

The project's goal is to ensure that each session serves as a space where young carers can enjoy themselves and provide mutual support in a secure environment.

Kathryn Sobczak, Young Carers Manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust said: "We are delighted to have been chosen as one of Co-op's local causes for the next year.

"Co-op members can support us by selecting us as their cause. All money raised will go towards respite trips for young carers in Hounslow and Ealing.

"Activities and day trips are a really important part of what we offer as they allow young carers to have a break from their caring role, to have a chance to experience activities that they might not usually be able to and to relax and have fun!"
