Join us for a family day out on 27th August at Greenford Quay's first ever canal festival.

This free festival is open for all to enjoy an action-packed day in celebration of our beautiful waterway and the amazing wildlife along its banks. A day full of fun activities, performances, workshops and music! Full programme listed below, please note pre-registration is required for some events with limited capacity - don't miss out!

All day activities:

Face painting with Glitzt Body Art 

Garden Games | Giant Jenga, Hoop throw, Connect 4, Noughts & Crosses

Scavenger Hunt | Grab your hunting hats and tick off every item on the list and receive a free mini colouring book and a magic pencil! Collect from the registration desk outside Tillerman's entrance.

Nature Walk with Ealing Wildlife Group 

2pm-3pm | Meet at Entrance to Tillerman's Court 

Get to know the Grand Union canal and the wildlife and plants you share it with on this fun and educational guided nature walk with the brilliant Ealing Wildlife Group.

Arts & Crafts workshops for all ages

Artist Call Out | 11am onwards & tutor review between 2.30pm - 4.30pm | The Amphitheatre, Grenan Square

Calling all artists (or wannabe artists!) who love to sketch water and life on the canal! Come along and sketch the canal and surrounding area at your own pace and take the opportunity to discuss your work with an experienced tutor between 2:30pm- 4:30pm. Materials can be collected from the Amphitheatre.

Beginners Sketch Class | 11.30pm - 1.30pm | The Amphitheatre, Grenan Square

Learn how to sketch water and Canal Life. This class is aimed at beginners who struggle to capture water. By the end of the workshop you'll be able to capture the magic of water using just the humble pencil. Materials provided.

Plant Pot Painting | 12.00pm- 2pm | The Green, Grenan Square

Plant pot painting for all ages! Come and create a customised plant pot with paints and glitter! Return later to sow some seeds to grow your own basil plant! Please note we can only have 15 participants at a time so there might be a short wait as people finish their pots.

Sow & Grow Basil | 3pm-5pm | The Green, Grenan Square

Come and sow your very own Basil seeds in your painted plant pot and learn how to care for them to produce delicious fresh basil perfect for pizza and pasta! Please note we can only have 15 participants at a time so there might be a short wait as people finish their pots.

Peter Pan (The True Story) by Captain James Hook

12noon-12.50pm & 3pm - 3.50pm | The Amphitheatre, Grenan Square

We all know the adventures of Peter Pan, but what if we saw the story from another perspective? Captain Hook and his pirates have kidnapped Wendy! But Wendy cleverly turns her interrogation into a Storytime adventure, making Hook

A Wonderful Adventure is a theatre company specialising in the magical and fantastical. Founded in 2017 to create ethical adventure with a steampunk edge, designed to entertain people of all ages.

The play has two sittings so choose your time to reserve your seat. Walk-ups welcome!

That's right, they're back! After an amazing response to their brilliant Thursday Night Live session in July, the fantastic Khaya Fhaya and Band will be back to bring the Summer Series to a close with a bang! Expect Funk & Soul and Motown classics!

Table Tennis Tournament

11:30am-2:30pm | Sign up on the day at Registration desk | Table Tennis Table, Grenan Square

Could you be Greenford's Table Tennis Sensation?

Grab a bat and take part in the Tillerman's Trophy, our first Table Tennis Tournament! The winner will receive the Tillerman's Trophy and £20 Amazon voucher. Prizes for runner up too.

Very limited spaces available, registration on the day between 10am - 11am.

Tillerman's Tail's Dog Show with Paws in the City

12:15om - 3pm | Sign up on the day at Registration desk | Greenford Quay Dog Park

With a variety of fun novelty classes giving every Greenford pooch the chance to win one of the infamous rosettes presented by the wonderful veterinary team from Paws in the City!

Does your canine have what it takes to steal the judge's hearts?!

Show takes place in Greenford Quay's Dog Park.

Boat Trips

All day return schedule from Greenford Quay to Horsenden Hill Farm | Sign up on the day at Registration desk

Take a leisurely guided boat trip down the Grand Union Canal to Horsenden Farm. Each boat trip will have its own guide from Friend of Horsenden Hill and will be running throughout the day.

Our neighbours, Horsenden Farm, will be hosting their Summer Festival so hope off to check them out and hop on a returning boat to get back to Greenford Quay for more fun activities and performances.

The perfect way to spend the afternoon with friends and family.

Wheelchair accessible boat available, please speak to our team on the day for more info.
