Hanwell Town were denied a draw by a stoppage time goal as Winchester City inflicted their fourth straight Southern League Premier Division defeat.
Simba Mlambo gave Winchester the lead early in the second half before Kweku Lucan struck back ten minutes later.
Then deep into second half injury time Jamie Barron turned home a cross to break Hanwell hearts and win it for Winchester at the death.
A sixth game without a win and fourth consecutive defeat means the Geordies have fallen down to ninth in the table, but will get some respite as they play in the FA Trophy against Slough Town next weekend.
The Geordies almost caught out Winchester early on as Connor Lynch held the ball up well and laid it off to Danny Rowe, who spotted Jordi Valero off his line and tried his luck from distance, but it just didn't dip in time and went over the bar.
Lynch went from provider to being on the end of a chance after he profited from Archie Willcox letting the ball bounce beyond him and he unleashed a shot from a tight angle, which was pushed out to Dan Carr, who curled a shot just wide of the post.
The Citizens threatened for the first time after 18 minutes as Mlambo got on the end of a low cross and forced Joshua Strizovic into a good stop to beat it away.
Mlambo again threatened once again as he got on the end of a floated free-kick from Barron and volleyed it goal wards, which Strizovic did well to tip over the top.
Rowe came a few inches away from opening the scoring as Sam Saunders delivered the ball into the middle for Rowe to get on the end of and his header crashed against the crossbar and Winchester did well to scramble the rebound clear.
Just six minutes into the second half the Citizens were awarded a penalty after a clumsy challenge in the area, but Strizovic denied Barron from 12 yards in what was proving to be a memorable debut for the 22-year-old.
However, minutes later Winchester did take the lead as Mlambo received the ball from a ricochet and made no mistake in firing into the top corner.
It did not take long for the Geordies to respond as Carr ran into the box and clipped a ball in for Lucan to turn into the back of net and restore parity.
Hanwell pushed for a winner and Sham Barnwell and Mark Waters both had shots on goal, but neither did enough to truly trouble the 'keeper.
Then in the 90th minute Winchester countered quickly and Mlambo kept the ball in down the side and delivered a cross into Barron, who headed in at the death to win it for the visitors.
