National Apprenticeship Week is next week (February 8-12)

ENSURING that education is not interrupted by COVID restrictions, online apprenticeships teaching is in full swing at the University of West London (UWL) ahead of National Apprenticeship Week on February 8.

UWL works with more than 100 employers each year to train and upskill hundreds of degree apprentices in digital industries, construction, business and healthcare – helping employees progress with tailored skills in their industry and helping young people get a foot on the career ladder.

56 FPN were issued during the Christmas period alone

SOUTHALL Safer Neighbourhoods Team has been working closely with Ealing Council on operation Pontem and has issued 150 fixed penalty notices (FPN) during December and January.

The operation focused on Bridge Road in Southall, which has always seen a large amount of people travel to the area, despite the COVID restrictions.

EALING residents are frustrated at the vast amounts of litter that has been building up for a long time on the Grand Union Canal in Hanwell.

Local resident Alan Dye described the amount of litter on Osterley Lock 98 as 'disgraceful' and mentioned that he has contacted the Canal & River Trust on numerous occasions, but nothing had been done about it.

EALING Liberal Democrats have uncovered that the government only told Ealing Council about the variant sample on Wednesday, January 27 and that the Council attended the first meeting on this enhanced testing initiative on Thursday, January 28.

Following the emergence of the South African COVID-19 variant in a sample from a Hanwell (W7) resident on December 29 (nearly a month before the Council was told), Ealing Council has been urging asymptomatic residents and people who work in Hanwell and West Ealing postcodes to get tested.
