MORE than 40 people are facing £800 fines after they were caught at an illegal rave in the vault of a disused bank in Southall.

Officers were on patrol on Sunday, March 7, when they heard loud music on Hortus Road just before 9am.

UP to 25,000 people in the whole of Ealing look after elderly or vulnerable relatives and neighbours and many do not get paid a single penny for their work.

WENZEL'S the Bakers have opened a new store in Ealing Broadway, making it their fifth in total throughout the borough.

Following the branches already established in West Ealing, Hanwell, Greenford and Northolt, Wenzel's opened its newest location on February 24 at 35 The Broadway.

FOLLOWING last night's Planning Committee meeting, the controversial Perceval House development has now been approved, after Councillors voted seven to three in favour of the project, with three abstentions.

DETECTIVES have appealed to the public for information that can help catch the killer of Penny Bell, who was murdered in Perivale 30 years ago.

Appearing on BBC One's Crimewatch Roadshow Live yesterday, March 10, Detective Sergeant Susan Stansfield made the public appeal following the 43-year-old's murder in the car park of Gurnell Leisure Centre three decades ago.

FOLLOWING The Royal Parks' plea to keep dogs in both Richmond and Bushy Parks on leads and out of Skylark nesting areas, the charity has called on Ealing dog owners to also be on the 'lookout' at Warren Farm.

The skylark species is reportedly 'under threat' due to rising visitor numbers and dogs not being 'kept under control'.

FOLLOWING last week's budget announcement by the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, the cross-party group, London Councils, has welcomed his decision to extend the £20-a-week uplift to Universal Credit for six months, but describes this as the 'bare minimum' needed to stop homelessness rates increasing even further.

The umbrella body, which represents all 32 boroughs and the City of London Corporation, says the government should show far greater ambition in addressing homelessness through welfare policy changes and investment in social housing.
