FRIENDS of Grand Union Canal have hosted a litter picking event across 12 miles of the Grand Union Canal from Southall to Paddington.
Led by group founder, David Posnett, a volunteer team of 65 members spent last Saturday, July 24, clearing the Paddington Arm of the canal - which passes through Southall, Greenford, Northolt and Perivale.

MORE than 270 Ealing schoolchildren have taken part in a celebratory 'booknic' event aiming to inspire children to read.
The event was organised by Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and involved children enjoying a picnic and a book, while also taking part in a range of fun reading-themed activities.

A SERVING police officer has been handed a suspended sentence after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice.
PC Donna Coker was found guilty on June 21 of perverting the course of justice in relation to a police collision that took place in Ealing in 2017.
