Planning is a subject that annoys a lot of people in Southfield and the whole borough of Ealing, and this includes the huge number of skyscrapers to be built in South Acton bordering Southfield as well as the very expensive flats in Ealing Broadway (£744,000 for a one bedroom flat in the Filmworks development). Hardly affordable housing!

Many of these newly built flats remain empty due to the developers' high sale prices.

A family-run relish business in Ealing set up during lockdown has surprised themselves by receiving a gold star award in the Great Taste Award 2021 for their chutney.

The Ealing Relish company was started last year by Sue Hutt, 20-year Ealing resident, with her partner Jim and their pineapple date and chilli chutney has now received award-winning recognition.
